Deepsea Water-Facial Mist

Salam People,

It's F.R.I.D.A.Y and weekend is here.....guess most of us will be on long holidays (X'mas and New Year) unfortunately I'm NOT :-( *Cuti dah habis daa...* :P.

While enjoying your long holidays, our skin needs to hydrate and besides that ensuring to drink at least 2 litre of fluids, this wonderful product from Shu Uemura is a great assistance to our skin hydration!

Deepsea water they called it is taken from the depth of the ocean where sunlight does not reach, at 200 meters. Completely free of artificial color, natural aromatic extracts are then added to become lightly scented mists that rejuvenate and hydrate the skin, hair and body.

You can use it anytime! For me--I usually use it before my make up routine after I put on my moisturizer. Also, I use it when I have finished my make up as it takes away cakeyness and gives it a glow.

Eight herbal aromas provide refreshing feel to energize the skin, but my all time favourite is MINT :-). Others like Lavender, Bergamot, Chamomile, Hamamelis, Rose, Rosemary and also available in Fragance Free ;-)

Shu Uemura Deepsea Water Facial Mist

My favourite - MINT :D

Enjoy your weekend people and Happy Holidays!....Until then...talk to you again!

Let's talk about HAIR & SCALP CARE

Salam People,

It came across my mind to share some hair products that I have been using as admittedly I have an oily and sensative scalp. If I wrongly selected a Shampoo....that is IT--small flakes will start to grow and my scalp start to feel itchy.

You just name it ALL the shampoo with dandruff control agent-ALL I've used it but still problem persists. Finally by chance I got to know about Lactacyd cleansing liquid.

Lactacyd is a cleansing liquid with milk extract. With a PH of 3.5 it helps to control the natural acidity of our skin. It can be used for face, body and also as a shampoo. It is also can be used for the most sensative skin including the skin of a NEWBORN baby!

I've used this when my scalp condition was bad at that point of time but it healed tremendously after few washes :-).

Psssttt...it can also be used as an intimate wash and it safer than an ordinary feminine hygiene wash as mentioned above it maintain our natural skin acidity. **Even doc recommended it too**

BTW, This is NOT LACTACYD FEMININE HYGIENE wash-this is a CLEANSING LIQUID (The stripes on the bottle is GREEN & BLUE-NOT blue & red.) Don't get mistaken ya! :D

I've recommended to a colleague of mine who had dry sensative scalp and it really works for him! :D

For now and mantainance-I'm currently using Body Shop Ginger Shampoo. Love it as it is natural and minimal hair loss compared to others ;-).

Until then...talk to you again....Oh Ya! To ALL friends and acquintances who will be celebrating christmas....HO HO HO....MERRY CHRISTMAS! and be safe on the road.

Rekindle back our love from the first time we met and appreciating where we are now as a husband & wife. It doesn't have to be a BIG event with a BIG budget-a simple ones i.e strolling down the park together, eating ice cream and SEIZE the moments-JUST THE TWO OF YOU-kids,work and home matters please put it aside!)
My thank you(s) to the couple for giving me the trust in making me part of their special day. May Allah bless both of you with infinite loves, happiness, prosperity and until death do both of you apart-AMIN.

Foundation Primer or some may called it as Under Base

Salam People,

How are you doing? Everybody must be very busy preparing for school re-open-shopping on school stuff, books, shoes, uniforms and etc. While others who is still young, single and vibrant-end of year means holidays? or time to clear off their leaves but still layparking with friends-outing, shopping, clubbing and etc :-)

Whatever your year end activities are-for ladies....make up is MUST! We want to LOOK GOOD aren't we? I would love to share some tips on make up, especially before you put on your foundation to make it stay and looking flawless.

Before I'm introduce to the world of professional make up artist-I do NOT know what is Foundation Primer or Underbase? For me previously - 2 simple steps for face make up - Foundation and powder :P before I put on my lipstick, blusher, eyeliner and some mascara.

Now-I am sharing the benefits and importance of why we have to use foundation primer or some may called it as underbase.

Foundation Primer (I called it) is a lightweight, creamy gel meant to be used prior to foundation, creating an invisible layer that acts as a buffer to outside elements. This helps to smoothen your foundation application and some foundation primer will assist to enhance your dull skin and indirectly your skin will glow and brighten up!

There are many foundation primer out there-most of the major cosmetics brand will carry at least 1 but most will carry more i.e MAC, Shu Uemura, Laura Mercier, RMK, Bobbi Brown and etc. Foundation primer comes in many colours and ranges i.e your skin tone & skin texture (skin tone-dull, dark - skin texture-oily, dry)

As for me I have tried most of the foundation primer (MOST but NOT ALL, still shopping around and if anyone has anything to share-feel free to share as I love gathering information and learn from others too) and I'm sharing the best so far I've used (This is my personal preference-some other make up artists may have their own preference too :D)

RMK - Polish base

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

Pssttt...my MUA friends heard that make up forever foundation primer is GOOD too! Any comments? :-)

Until then...talk to ALL of you again....

Parfums-Annick Goutal

Salam People,

To stay good and feel good...you need to smell good too :-). Yes, everybody has their own scents preference....be it citrus, floral, fruity or musky as long it smells good on us aite?

EDT (Eau de toilette) or EDP (Eau de parfums) or Parfums itself, depending on your preference too -
  • Eau De Parfum (EDP) - This is lighter than Perfume, with more concentration from EDT, and so is less expensive but still has long lasting characteristics, from 3 to 5 hours.

  • Eau De Toilette (EDT) - This is a lighter more delicate fragrance and is therefore most suited to everyday use. It is normally less expensive than Eau de Parfum, and lasts for 2 to 4 hours.
(psstt...The higher the concentration of perfume oil, the more expensive the fragrance and the longer lasting the scent. Typically a pure perfume will not be sold in a spray bottle but in a very small bottle for the buyer to "dab" onto the skin. A little pure perfume goes a long way!)

My personal scent is sweet, fresh & fruity-hence I felt in love with Annick Goutal Petite Cherie. Received the 1st sample while I was buying my make up stuff at Kens Apothecary-Empire Shopping Gallery @ Subang (The sales person is smart eh...killing 2 birds at a time-guess you know what I mean). To make matters complicated...hahahahaha...while I was doing my job to make up one of my customer...her finishing touch, she seeked my assistance to spray her whole body with Annick Goutal - Petite Cherie AND now I have one bottle of my own! : D (Can't resist it anymore!!)

The above pic - Limited Edition Bottle

The difference between limited edition and normal - it is just the RIBBON :D

Annick Goutal offers wide range of scents for men and women--ALL are UNIQUE smell - give it a try :D

Acne, Pimples, Zits & Breakouts

Salam People,

I am back!!!...hehehehe. Back to reality and back to work *sigh*. I bet all of us will feel the same after a vacation-a mixed feeling of everything....tired, boredom and etc. Wish the time is longer and we can have more quality time with our loved ones. Face the fact that we CAN'T...we have our responsibilities and commitments-without it...we can't have the vacation either :P

While I was away on my holiday---most of the time I was out in the sun. I have an oily combination skin and you can imagine a day out in the sun with no time to refresh your face....by the time I clean my face ...I can feel small zits all over my cheek. I was like "Oh No!...then it strike my mind..."Dalacin T" my life saver!.

I cleansed my face using BB cleansing oil and follow thru with BB skin tonic and only then I used my Dalacin T. Leave it for 2-3 minutes before I apply my moisturizer.

When I woke up in the morning--small zits dissapeared! Yes it did! :-). That's why I call it my life saver!

The best acne solution ever! :-)

Travelling Kit

Salam People,

Since I'm going for another getaway but this time with my kids and my better half-loads of stuff needs to be packed! Besides than clothing...I've always ensure that I carry along my skincare travelling kit. A must bring items :

  • Sun block for face
  • Dalacin T (My pimples solutions-my life saver!)

As for my make up stuff-basic stuff need to carry along :-

  • Two way powder (Currently I'm using MAC fix-NC40)
  • Blusher
  • Lip Balm

For a person who do not wears make up-the above list maybe an exhaustive list :P but for a person who loves make up-the list is very basic as it will create a fresh look yet sweet ;-).

The importance of supplements for your skin

Salam People....

Beauty not only lies on how expensive your skin care & cosmetics are....it is also important to ensure that you have adequate food for the skin & body system a.k.a supplements.

Personally I'm a big fan of fish oil, Q10 & vitamin C. I'll ensure that I do not miss these 3 supplements daily as I do not practice good eating habit too :P (I just whacked any food, from fried food to spicy food and not forgetting junk food...hehehe). The difference I felt after religiously taking these 3 supplements were tremendous. I used to have a bad PMS (migraine, bodyache, mood swing & etc), feeling lethargic and lack of energy by the time I reach home from work. My skin looks dull and breakouts more often. With the help of these 3 supplements, minimal PMS effects and I feel much more energetic from previous. Again, it is individual-I am sharing base on my personal experience & always believe sharing is caring ;-)

Sharing the benefits of these 3 supplements in a nutshell (Info from google)

Fish Oil :

  • Reduce inflammation & pain
  • Cardiovascular Health
  • Protection from stroke and heart attack
  • Better brain function & intelligence
  • Less deepression
  • Reduction of breast, prostate & colon cancer

Q10 :

  • Weight loss-stimulates your body's metabolism
  • Healthy gums
  • Fertility
  • Cardiovascular
  • Immune system

Vitamin C

  • Healing - faster healing of wounds

  • Cancer prevention benefit
  • Eyes-improves vision
  • Anti Oxidant
  • Diabetes-managing blood sugar level

Sorry peeps this entry without any picture...boring eh? But I do hope it benefits some of us :-)

Radhiah's reception at Muar,Johor

I am honoured to have the opportunity to make up Radhiah on her big day at her husband's reception at Muar, Johor. 2 of her earlier receptions were professionally done by 2 professional make up artists-Saidatulnissa (Kak Sai for nikah) & Ayang Kamell (for bride's reception in KL).

Chatty and lovely bride she is- my thank you(s) to Radhiah & families for giving me the trust. Appreciate all the hospitality and the best nasi beriyani ever-Beriyani Johor! :D. Face Polish-A MUST routine and item to have

Salam People,

I've found the best face scrub and recommended for combination to oily skin. It is gentle and your skin will feel supple and smooth immediately after the usage! Me just love it!

Yes my skin care it's a mixed and match of different brands as I believe the best is always something that you've tried on your face and experience the result yourself.

My personal skincare routine
  1. Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil

  2. Laura Mercier Face Polish (I've used twice a week only)

  3. Bobbi Brown skin tonic

  4. Bobbi Brown hydrating gel

  5. Bobbi Brown Sunscreen (Only day time)

If you notice I have yet to use any eye cream or night cream-frankly I'm just lazy....hahahaha. Only cover the very basic and alhamdulillah my eye area have not shown any critical fine lines (few lines are normal aite...hehehehe). Perhaps I will consider to start using eye cream, next year? :P.

I feel sufficient with my skincare routine eventhough I'm a heavy make up user daily. Thanks to Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil (you don't need to double cleanse either!).

OK here's the picture of Laura Mercier Face Polish (Oh! Ya...I love the smell too)

The benefits of face polish :

  • Removes dead skin cells leaving the skin smooth and toned
  • Offers therapeutic calming benefits
  • Acts as a gentle astringent
  • Rich in emollients that replace lost lipids and re-hydrates the skin
  • Suitable for all skin tones
  • Can be used daily for normal to oily

More sharing on beauty coming up....Stay tune and talk you again....Emmuuaaahhhs!

After Party-Bobbi Brown

Salam People,

Yes I'm updating my blog again...hehehehe. As Helmi "kutuk me" , "semalam ada orang update blog"hahahaha. (I've learnt from the best :D)
Anyhow, our troupe headed to Pavillion today at 12 noon sharp and the road is kind to us too-it was a smooth traffic! Reached Pavi at 12:15pm and off we went to Bobbi Brown for the party.
Simone (Retail Manager) was not there yet (btw, she is a friendly lady and pssttt.... she gave away loads of free gifts! Trust me!). I've RSVPed my invitation thru her as our last visit to the shop she has assisted us and loads
of tips given by her too. Lovely lady!
Ok-while waiting for Simone, we were entertained by Shaffira (did I get the spelling right?). Nice & friendly girl. We had our time there! They served finger foods and as usual...we whacked it and Shaffira had to replenish it and after being replenished.....it went empty again...muahahahaha.
All of us were happy with our purchases and below are my purchases :D. Thought of sharing as personally I love their skin care-perhaps you may want to give it a try and bet you will never regret it! :-)

My skincare set ;-)

Some of the make up range I've purchased - Face Sweep brush, eyeshadow palette & 2 way powder

This eyeshadow pallette was reserved for me by Simone (TQ U SO MUCH) - Limited edition and today I came no more stock available, in fact Shaffira told me that many customers persuaded them to sell the reserved stock :-)

Tadaa....see what did I tell you....THE FREE GIFTs! Aren't they GENEROUS? Indeed they are! Thank you so much Shaffira, Simone and ALL Bobbi Brown Ladies ;-)

And NOT forgetting the FREE bag!

Before we left the store, Simone did mention that she will call us for their next workshop! wohoo!...can't wait people and for surely I will update my blog again...heeeee :D

Salam People,

My thank you(s) to Sabrina for giving me the trust to make up her sister in law. It's truly a ONE MALAYSIA wedding as her sister in law is a mix of chinese and indian parentage while Sabrina's family is from pure malay background. It was a night full of joy and they had fire cracker too!

I made a mistake again by NOT bringing my camera along and these pictures were courtesy from Sabrina's. Thank you so much and I am very glad that you appreciate my work ;-)

Shirley is a natural beauty.

Concealer, Foundation, Face Powder

Salam Everyone,

I was googling and found this interesting article about choosing the right shades of foundation, powder, concealer according your skin tone.

Useful tips given by Bobbi Brown herself and it is really practical and from my personal point of view (after trying loads of make up foundation, powder)....it is TRUE!

For anyone of you who is NEW and just learning to put some powder to your face-this article really a great help! Trust ME!

Happy reading....

Dark Circles
Choose a yellow-toned concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your foundation. For extremely dark circles (circles that have a greenish or purplish tinge to them), start with a pink- or peach-toned concealer, then layer on the yellow-toned concealer. Pass on concealer that's too light, is too pink or white, or is chalky or greasy. Never use concealer to cover blemishes. Concealer is designed to be lighter than your skin tone, so it will actually draw attention to your blemish. And skip concealer on eyelids because it will make eye makeup crease.
Always prep skin with eye cream to create a smooth canvas for concealer. Use a small headed brush with firm bristles to apply a generous amount of concealer under the eye, along the lashline and innermost corner of the eye. Gently tap the concealer with the pad of your index finger to blend it in. Try to apply as little pressure as possible. Tugging and rubbing will simply wipe concealer off. If you still see darkness, apply a second layer of concealer.
To avoid mid-day creasing, lock the concealer in place with loose powder. Use a velour puff or small powder brush to apply the powder. For the most natural look, use white powder if you have fair skin and yellow-toned powder if you have light, medium or dark skin.
Acne
A creamy, medium-weight cover-up or stick foundation is the best way to cover a blemish. Liquid formulas will be too sheer and won't offer enough coverage. Choose a shade that's the same color as your skin. To check, swipe the cover-up or stick foundation on the side of your face. If the swipe disappears into your skin, it's the right shade.
Use a concealer brush to spot-apply the cover-up or stick foundation just on the blemish. Pat with your index finger to blend. Then, set the cover-up or stick foundation with face powder applied with a velour puff or small powder brush. If you still see the blemish, repeat this process, layering cover-up or stick foundation and powder.
How to get flawless skin
Foundation is the best way to make skin look smooth and even. Over the years working as a makeup artist, I've found that yellow-toned foundation looks the most natural on all skin tones. To find your perfect match, swatch a few shades on the side of your face and check your reflection in natural light. The shade that disappears is the right one. If you have to apply foundation on your neck to make it match your face, you're using the wrong shade. It's a good idea to have two shades of foundation — one for the winter months and a slightly darker one for the summer when skin color tends to warm up.
Foundation formulas range from low-maintenance tinted moisturizers to moisturizing liquid cream foundations with more coverage. Here's a look at what the different formulas have to offer:
• Tinted moisturizers and tinted balms combine the benefits of a face cream with the skin-evening properties of a foundation. They're a good choice for normal and normal to dry skin that needs minimal coverage.
• Liquid and cream foundations are available in both moisturizing and oil-free formulas. They are easy to blend and can go from medium to full-coverage depending on how much you apply. If you go for liquid, be sure to shake the bottle first to make sure heavier parts haven't settled to the bottom.
• Stick foundation is one of my favorite formulas because it's portable and quick and easy to apply. A good choice for normal skin, this travel-friendly formula won't ever spill and it can also be used to cover blemishes and scars.
• Compact foundation, with its cream to powder formulation, is best for oily skin. To avoid looking cakey, look for one that's not too powdery. Many compacts come with different sponges that allow you to control the amount of coverage you get.
Use your fingers or a makeup sponge to spot-apply foundation where skin needs to be evened out, especially around the nose and mouth where there's redness. For full, all-over coverage, use a foundation brush to apply and blend foundation. To give foundation staying power and take away shine, finish off with a dusting of powder.
As for powder, pale yellow-toned powder is the most flattering on all skin tones. A big beauty myth is that translucent powder is invisible. I find that it actually makes skin look pasty and ashy. The same holds for purple, pink or green powders designed to “correct” color — they don't look natural, so stay away from them. Look for a powder with a silky, lighter-than-air texture. I use loose powder at home and pressed powder when I travel, since it's more portable. Use a velour puff to apply the powder and dust off any excess with a powder brush. Apply a fair amount of powder if skin is oily. Dust it just around the nose and forehead if skin is dry.
How to get a healthy glow
I've always loved the healthy, outdoorsy look. When everyone was doing neon-bright makeup in the ’80s and early ’90s, I was into creating natural-looking faces that featured bronzed skin and flushed cheeks. It's still my favorite look today.
Whenever I feel blah, I always reach for bronzer or self-tanner. It's the perfect antidote to sallow-looking skin. Bronzer comes in a handful of formulas: powder, cream (stick or compact), or gel. I prefer bronzing powder because it's quick and mistake-proof. Use a short, fluffy brush to apply bronzer where the sun naturally hits your face — your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Be sure to dust your neck and chest if you're wearing a bare top. For a dewy look, try a cream formula. Gel formulas give you a sheer, stained look and are good for oily skins. Use your fingers or a sponge to apply cream and gel bronzers the same way as the powder formula.
The most natural-looking bronzers have predominantly brown tones (with a bit of red) to them. Avoid bronzers that are orange-toned or frosted because they look artificial on any complexion. Most companies offer light, medium, and dark shades. Pick your shade based on how you tan naturally. For example, if you turn a medium golden brown in the sun, a medium bronzer is your best bet. The bronzer should blend easily and warm up your face. If the color looks too orange or obvious, try one shade lighter.
For a sun-kissed look that lasts a few days, try self-tanner. Before slathering yourself in self-tanner, do a patch test on the inside of your arm to make sure you're not allergic to the formula. To ensure that color develops evenly, be sure to exfoliate any rough patches before you apply the tanner. When applying self-tanner to your face, spread a thin layer to start. If you want to go darker, you can always wait until the color develops and do another application. Avoid your eyes and make sure to get your ears and neck so that there aren't any obvious lines. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after applying self-tanner, and allow enough time for it to absorb before getting dressed or going to bed.
If you wake up the next day to mistakes like too dark color or obvious streaks, you can fade them with a gentle exfoliant and lots of moisturizer.

HELLO PEOPLE

Salam Everyone,

I know it's been ages since my last post! Please accept my sincere apology as I admit that I'm NOT a blog person even though I work in IT line ;-). Repeatedly I've been "bebel" my buddy Helmi..."please update your blog, eventhough you don't have any pictures to upload...provide make up tips and anything about beauty....as people do not know you in person and when you write, people will know you better ;-)". Not her exact words but I do understand where she's coming from. OK, yes I should as I like to read about beauty and like to observe beauty too.

I will ...may I repeat again...I will try to at least share my humble knowledge in the world of beauty to all my dearest friends out there and who ever by any chance reading my blog. Insya'allah.

Oh! do enjoy my "blog make over"- Biggest "THANK YOU" to Mimie Hamdan for helping me out ...again...hehehe. Please check out her personal blog "My Precious" and her delicious cakes blog "Delicious Cuppies". Seriously peeps...her cakes and cupcakes are delicious!

Talk to you again....

Alhamdulillah-Again I was given the trust by Kak Rose and this time it was a 'live' TV show. I was nervous but yet overwhelmed with the experienced. First time ever in my life mingling with celebrities and they are just like us...normal people but to be franked looking at the way they work...it is not an easy line. You have to work day in and day out just to produce a good "live" reality TV show! And of coz....exhaustion is never in their dictionary.

I'm given the chance to puff Black, Ajai and Abang Nas (Terjah)--"mengigil gak bila pegang muka they all at first touch"--but they were so humble and professional ;-). My biggest thank you to Kak Rose for having the confidence in me and always guiding me-Not forgetting all her other team members-Kak Intan (Friendly & sweet lady), Anna Sha (Warmth & friendly person) & Ika.

Some of the photos taken during the make over and at the powder room-ENJOY!
